The MIABC’s Liability Insurance Program was established in 1987 and is member owned and operated. The Liability Protection Agreement is designed for local governments, by local governments and is tailored for our members’ needs. Our mission is to provide stable rates, broad coverage, and risk management education to assist our members in preventing claims.
The Liability Protection Agreement is broken down into three coverage categories:
Coverage A – Occurrence Basis
- Bodily Injury
- Personal Injury
- Property Damage
Coverage B – Claims Made Basis:
- Supplementary Payments - Defence and Other Costs
The MIABC’s Liability Protection Agreement provides coverage for a wide range of insureds including:
- Elected officials, staff and volunteers, including volunteer firefighters;
- Building inspectors;
- Member owned entities;
- Societies created by Council; and
- Associates Members.
