In the second season of the MIABC’s Raptors’ Room, the City of Nelson and the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako both presented creative and entertaining pitches to the Raptor judges and the MIABC Risk Management Conference attendees in hopes of their communities winning the grand prize of $10,000 in MIABC Risk Management Grant funds.
After some tough questions from the Raptor judges and conference attendees, both pitches were evaluated by the audience based on the following criteria:
- Efficacy: How effective will the project be in impacting the identified risk?
- Transferability: How well will other members benefit by implementing this idea?
- Innovation: Is the idea innovative and new?
- Creativity: Did the group present the pitch in a manner that was interesting and engaging?
Conference attendees then voted for which pitch best met the criteria above, and the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako won the grand prize of $10,000! However, in true Megan “Win-Free” Chorlton fashion, there was a surprise. The City of Nelson also won $5,000 in Risk Management Grant funds to address the risks outlined in their pitch!
Congratulations to both the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako and the City of Nelson on their wins!
