This is a stand-alone policy that covers the contractor who is working for your local government for losses caused by the negligence of their own independent contractor or the contractor’s supervision of their independent contractors. It is a good idea to require contractors to carry this coverage if they are hiring subcontractors to perform some or all of the work under your contract.
